The Claims team provides the protection and peace of mind that our members are looking for when Pharmacists Mutual insures them. We investigate, evaluate, solve problems, and protect our members. A career in claims offers interesting challenges every day, helping people restore what’s most important to them. We want professionals with people and problem-solving skills who take pride in delivering exceptional customer service. Compassion is a must – you’ll be helping people who’ve been through stressful situations, such as a car accident, the consequences of a powerful storm, or the stress of being the target of litigation.


One of our primary responsibilities is to help Pharmacists Mutual and our subsidiary companies avoid risk by identifying the state statutes and regulations we must comply with and implementing an efficient process to comply with the state requirements. We assist our operational teams with compliance questions that arise while performing their daily tasks. We make sure our field representatives and agency partners are licensed and appointed to sell insurance. The research we conduct helps the Company to make informed business decisions. We work with the state insurance departments and divisions to ensure that the Company has the appropriate authority.



The leadership team guides our coworkers, a team of over 300 professionals, to achieve the company's vision and fulfill its mission. By upholding Pharmacists Mutual's values, the company's leaders are committed to our members and coworkers. The Finance team at Pharmacists Mutual is continually striving for perfection. We are in charge of completing state-specific reports and payments throughout the year for all of our Companies. Our team works hard to produce the Company's financial statements. We prepare state and municipal premium taxes, as well as federal and state income tax returns. The team is also responsible for accounts payable and receivables for the Companies.

The IT team provides the best possible experience and solutions for members, employees, and partners. Our priorities are effectiveness, efficiency, and security. Using a project management process, our team maintains, supports, enhances, and implements essential systems and tools to help our Company achieve its mission and vision.

Insurance Agency

Our insurance agency, PMC Advantage Insurance Services, Inc. (PMCA), supports our members by providing coverage not offered by Pharmacists Mutual. PMCA is licensed in all 50 states and Washington DC. We represent over 150 different insurance companies and brokers.

The agency is comprised of two divisions:  Property and Casualty and Life and Health. We support our Field Representatives and Coverage Advisors in all states, along with offering all lines of products to our customers from our local offices in Algona, Burt, Corwith, Garner, Swea City, and West Bend, Iowa. The Marketing team plays a vital role in promoting the Company, raising brand awareness, and driving our insurance products' growth. We reach out to future and current members, and the communities we serve to promote Pharmacists Mutual's products and superior service. Being a part of the Marketing team offers opportunities to be creative and work with other departments and outside vendors. We use several different advertising channels including, digital, social media, paid search, display, print, video, and broadcast to reach our members and future members.


Product Development

We foster change, converting company and consumer initiatives into viable solutions. We serve as a primary contributor to cross-functional teams. We spearhead projects related to new and revised coverage, analytical tasks, legislative changes, the competitive environment, and so much more. As a product development team member, you will gain exposure and access to understanding the big picture and the finer details.

Risk Management

At our core, the Risk Management team is here to serve our members by providing real-world solutions to manage risk. We understand that not all operations are created equal, and we take the time to custom craft solutions that meet individual needs. We strive to build enduring relationships with our members.

The Sales team at Pharmacists Mutual is the front-line contact between the Company, its members, and prospective members. The team's main objectives are to prospect, propose, and obtain new business. Our sales team is dedicated to helping prospective and existing members secure the right insurance coverage. Professional agents are an important part of the service we provide.


Do you enjoy analyzing information, solving puzzles, and making decisions? Or is serving people more your thing? The Commercial Insurance and Operations Team has many different opportunities for you to explore. Our Commercial Underwriters collaborate with our sales team to determine risk eligibility. Our Operations Team is responsible for entering information into our policy processing system. They prioritize tasks to meet deadlines. Our Member Services Team is the front line assisting our members, taking phone calls, and answering emails in response to member needs.
