Biography

Edward Yorty is a graduate of Northeastern University and Pennsylvania State University, where he earned a Master of Science in Finance and a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology, respectively. He is also a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS), a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA), and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA).

He has over 30 years of insurance experience. Prior to joining Pharmacists Mutual in 2011, he spent 15 years working for mutual insurance companies. Most recently, he served as Chief Financial Officer for Oregon Mutual Insurance for ten years, along with other executive and operational responsibilities. Before that, he served in actuarial and finance roles at Medical Mutual Liability Insurance Society of Maryland. In addition to his executive role as President and CEO, he serves on the Board of Directors of Pharmacists Mutual Insurance Company and each of its wholly-owned subsidiary companies.

Ed serves on the Board of Governors of the Property Casualty Insurers Association of America, the Member Advisory Committee of the Casualty Actuarial Society, and the Board of Directors of Pharmacy Marketing Group.  He has also served as a past member of the Oregon Insurance Guarantee Association Board of Directors, the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy's Executive Leadership Board, the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America’s Corporate Council, and the Algona YMCA Board of Directors. Ed serves the local community as a member of the Algona Rotary Club.
